Moraine Park Technical College
The Human Resources Associate of Applied Science degree at Moraine Park sets students up for a successful HR career by laying a strong foundation in communication, human relations and business fundamentals. Students learn to recruit, hire, and onboard new team members, maintain personnel records, coordinate compensation and benefit programs, and administer safety programs. They are equipped to support managers as they lead and motivate employees. Graduates are prepared for a variety of roles within Human Resources and Talent Development including recruitment, training, onboarding, as well as compensation and benefits roles.
Students gain hands-on human resources experience, learning how to create an organizational workforce plan, develop training programs, examine HRIS applications, organizational engagement programs, incorporate employment law into business practices and foster effective employee relations.

A program that requires its students to demonstrate they have successfully acquired a set of skills or knowledge base prior to completing the program. Compare to a "time-based" training program that results in successful completion if the students participate in a certain number of instructional hours.

Program applications are accepted until a week prior to the start of each semester. There are some exceptions for programs or certificates that begin mid-semester.
Some high-demand/limited-enrollment programs reach capacity based on the number of students who complete admission. Applicants are accepted into limited-enrollment programs on a first-come, first-served basis and are admitted from program waitlists as space becomes available.

The credits from the Human Resources Assistant Certificate can be applied toward the Human Resources Associate of Applied Science degree.
Advisory board committee members from area businesses provide guidance and direction on curriculum and program outcomes.
Moraine Park offers Employment Services and Career Services to students.
Tutoring is available online and face to face for our students.
Additional fees will include books and supplies/materials.
